Co-operative, London, UK

By: Interface

Interface recently worked with The Co-operative to develop a sustainable flooring design for the company’s new headquarters, Angel Square in Manchester city centre. In line with its ethical approach to business, The Co-operative required a flooring solution that would help developers to construct one of the most sustainable buildings in the UK, while at the same time creating a contemporary design.

When fully occupied, Angel Square will be home to over 3,500 people and has been built as part of the NOMA development and regeneration project – a scheme established to provide sustainable office, retail, residential and leisure space in the heart of Manchester. The regeneration initiative is backed by The Co-operative and underpinned by the company’s core values of corporate social responsibility and a commitment to the environment.

Interface was chosen to create the flooring design – which covers over 24,000 square metres of office space – due to its credentials as a worldwide leader in sustainable manufacturing.
